Quaker International Educational Trust (QuIET)

Since 1873, in the hills above Beirut, Brummana High School (BHS) has been educating young people within the Quaker ethos. The school acts as a beacon of hope in a region torn by strife and sectarianism.

BHS welcomes students of all faiths and opinions, from all backgrounds, and prepares young people to work together for a better country and more peaceful future.

For the last 150 years Quakers have supported ‘our’ school in Lebanon though famine, wars, invasion, and in recent times, COVID, the Beirut port explosion and the collapse of the Lebanese lira. Through it all, BHS has survived as a leading and dynamic educational force in the country serving the needs of its 1,200+ pupils and their families.
